How do you feel at the holidays?

The holidays can be such a struggle.

We’ve been sold a myth that EVERYTHING has to be perfect.

Just like every ad or Hallmark card or glamorized fantasy of a holiday movie we see on TV.

It’s not accurate.

We can’t live up to our childhood visions of sugarplums and because we’re freaking grownups and now, we’re in charge of all the merrymaking.

Your parents were exhausted believe me.

And until 2015, I was too.

But that fall everything changed for us.

I was diagnosed with cancer. 

I would be deep into my chemo treatments during the holidays.

We quickly realized that I would not have the energy to host the big fancy dinner or bake the five kinds of holiday cookies or wrap a hundred presents like I did in the past. 

Instead, we opted out of the crazy of the holiday season. 

We chose to focus on what truly matters to us as a family. 

We loved it so much that we kept those new traditions. 

And I’m here to share them with you. 

Now -

Our holidays are calmer. 

We have more fun.

And we stress a lot less.

I’m here to tell you that your holidays can be like that too.

This is your permission to not do it ALL.

You CAN have an uncluttered holiday.

Your Instructor

I’m Catherine Avery In my regularly scheduled life, I’m an ADHD & Productivity Coach. I coach my clients to master their time, space and information so they can be more productive, more profitable, and have more time to spend doing the things they love. When it comes to productivity,  I believe that to be truly productive you need to learn how to be intentionally unproductive. I call if the power of the pause. A former queen of clutter, recovering Type A Wall Streeter, and cancer survivor/thriver, I was diagnosed with ADHD later in life. But I suspected for years. I like to think of myself as a bit of a bad*ss. Hey I learned how to surf at age 53. I am happiest on the water - surfing, sailing, kayaking. And I ski to get through the long New England winters. I also enjoy traveling and cooking with my husband and teen daughter. When I'm not on the move (hello ADHD fast brain), you may find me curled up by the fireplace with a cup of coffee, our cat, and a favorite book.
